Floods are part of Australian life. On average, close to 12 people die each year in Australian flood waters. Additionally, it is estimated flooding costs Australian communities $377 million every year. With over 1.3 million homes directly at risk it is essential we ensure our communities are prepared and protected.
We cannot stop floods; however, we can manage the risk through a combination of measures which include the adoption of smart sensing technologies & suitable warning systems to communicate the dangers.
