Services

Aquamonix were contracted by local council to supply and install two 24-horn siren systems.

How we helped

These sirens will perform the important role of warning residents and visitors to Sapphire and the surrounding gem fields of imminent danger from floodwaters or fire.

The gem fields of central Queensland attract visitors from all over the world. These fossickers camp in low lying and remote areas of the region. These areas are high risk flood and fire zones that are difficult to access for emergency services during times of disaster. Residents of the township of Sapphire and surrounding properties and mining claims can also be threatened by floodwaters and fire.

These recently installed sirens have been integrated by Aquamonix engineers into the existing siren system in Emerald.

Local Government Procurement Approved Contractor

Local Buy Supplier

Local Buy helps alleviate the need for open market tenders by managing the procurement compliance burden on behalf of all Local Government agencies. All Local Buy arrangements are compliant with the Local Government Regulations 2012 and Local Government Act 2009 and provide Local Government entities with the assurance that all suppliers are vetted and compliant based on a comprehensive tender, evaluation, and approval process. Purchasing through a Local Buy prequalified supply arrangement negates the need for Councils to go through the formal tender process.
